2020-2021 Family Engagement Survey
Dear Community Members:
Under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) accountability system, the Patchogue-Medford School District has been designated as a Targeted District by the New York State Department of Education. The designation requires the District to survey our community in the Fall and Spring. Many of you took the survey in October and the results were extremely valuable in informing district and building leadership of the necessary areas of growth.
We are very interested in your continued feedback. Our family/school relationship and partnership is central to our students’ success. We will once again be providing our families with a link to The Family Engagement Survey. Both Spanish and English versions will be posted to our website. The survey will be open until June 25th. Just click on the link and enter the password you received in the Connect Ed message. The survey has twenty-five questions which are rated on a five-part scale plus three open-ended questions for our families to offer comments. The survey is very easy to complete and will take approximately ten to fifteen minutes of your time. All survey responses are anonymous; respondents are not identified. We ask that there be one survey per household per school.
Additionally, as part of this process, our teachers and students will be completing similar surveys. The student surveys will be completed during the school day. At the elementary level, only students enrolled in grades 3-5 will complete surveys. Student surveys will consist of fifteen questions and all responses are anonymous. This provides us with a comprehensive database that will be important for our future planning.
We appreciate your assistance in completing this important survey. If there are questions or need for clarification, please contact the Office of Instructional Services at 687-6350. Parents are such an important part of what we do and we are grateful to our families for taking the time to respond. It is important for our schools. We look forward to receiving your input.
