New York State Career and Technical Education (CTE) Endorsement
A Career and Technical Education (CTE) Endorsement recognizes a student who has successfully completed coursework in a NYSED approved CTE program. Obtaining a Technical Endorsement informs potential employers, colleges, or military services that you have completed a course in which you received technical training and knowledge to transition into an entry level position in a targeted industry. Patchogue-Medford High School offers students eight CTE programs which are available to students in the 11th grade. All programs require students to complete the entire sequence of the courses to be eligible for the CTE endorsement.
The technical endorsement may be awarded to students who complete the requirements for any diploma type (local, Regents, or Regents with advanced designation) and also complete a NYSED-Approved Secondary Career and Technical Education (CTE) program that includes:
- passing a minimum of 3.5 CTE credits
- passing each part of a 3-part technical assessment (written, demonstration, project components).
