Mr. Matthew Hanley - Acting Principal
Thank you for visiting the Barton Elementary Principal Welcome Page. I am honored to serve you and your children as the acting Principal of Barton Elementary.
How do we make the world a better place? A child might say that we make the world a better place through acts of kindness. At an early age, children of all ability levels begin to develop their innate and deep capacities for kindness, caring and love toward their family and friends. As the Principal of Barton Elementary School, I believe it is incumbent upon each member of our staff to find opportunities to foster and develop those universal traits in our students on a daily basis. Each encounter with one of our students is a chance to brighten their day, teach a lesson, and pass on the gift of kindness.
Moreover, it is proven that within an atmosphere of positivity and support, significant academic, social and emotional growth will occur. As result of this learning and growth, by the end of 5th grade, our goal is to have your child excited and ready for the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead in middle school and high school.
A key component to sustaining a positive and supportive atmosphere is clear and consistent communication. Our Barton parents should feel free to discuss concerns, issues or ideas with teachers and administration. Reach out to us and we will assist you promptly. Our staff members at Barton are on the frontlines of ensuring that your child is safe, happy and well-educated. So please call, e-mail and/or make an appointment to address any concerns you may have.
By developing a strong partnership with our families and community, we will ensure that your child has an opportunity to learn, grow and make the world a better place for all.
