Assistant Superintendent for Instruction
Lori Cannetti was appointed as the District’s Assistant Superintendent in August of 2010. Prior to being appointed, Ms. Cannetti served as the Assistant Principal of Saxton Middle School from 1999-2002, the Principal of Oregon Middle School from 2002-2006, and the Principal of Canaan Elementary from 2006-2008. Previous to joining the Patchogue-Medford community, Mrs. Cannetti was a middle school mathematics teacher in the Hewlett-Woodmere School District, teaching both 7th and 8th grade.
Mrs. Cannetti briefly left the district for 2 years to take on a role at Eastern Suffolk BOCES as Divisional Administrative for Special Education. During this time she worked collaboratively with school districts in the region in creating shared-service programs to support “at-risk” students.
As the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction K-12, her primary role is to assist the Superintendent of Schools by providing leadership and vision in the ongoing establishment of goals, planning, development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of curriculum, and instructional programs in the District.
Mrs. Cannetti attended SUNY Geneseo and Dowling College. She earned her Bachelor of Science, Master of Science in Secondary Education and Professional Diploma in School District Administration at Dowling College.
As the instructional leader, she believes that all students should be offered high quality educational programs that are aligned to current state standards/frameworks and to instructional practices that yield the highest standards of student achievement, instructional excellence, and community support in all subject areas.
