The Patchogue-Medford School District has partnered with the special education curricula company TeachTown to amplify student growth and achievement. By pairing TeachTown’s inclusive curricula and tools with the expertise of Patchogue-Medford’s educators, students have experienced tangible success.
Canaan Elementary School recently hosted its inaugural color run fundraiser, collecting over $20,000 to support school assemblies and PTA events. Students, administrators, faculty, and staff all eagerly participated, with some running while others threw color. This included Canaan Elementary School’s principal, Ray Ruiz, who both tossed color and was completely covered. Families were invited to watch as well, enhancing community unity and joy.
Patchogue-Medford High School senior Abigail Caravella and junior Kiersten Schafer claimed the first acting Teeny Awards in the high school’s history for their respective performances in the school’s production of Mean Girls. Abigail won lead role in a comedy musical for her performance as Cady Heron, and Kiersten was honored as the best supporting role in a comedy musical for her portrayal of Janis Sarkisian.
