Patchogue-Medford High School Cheer Captures National Championship Bid

The Patchogue-Medford High School varsity cheer team recently competed in the Universal Cheerleaders Association Empire Regional at Farmingdale State College. The Raiders finished fifth in a highly competitive division, and this achievement earned them a bid to the National High School Cheerleading Championship in February 2026.

Patchogue-Medford Students Enjoy Immersive Oyster Education ProgramĀ 

PATCHOGUE, NEW YORK (NOVEMBER 2025)—The Patchogue-Medford School District has partnered with Seatuck National Wildlife Refuge for an immersive oyster education program. This initiative aims to teach students about the important role oysters play in local estuaries. The pilot program is for fifth graders at Barton Elementary School and sixth graders at Saxton and Oregon middle schools.

River Elementary School Holds Annual Veterans Day Celebration

PATCHOGUE, NEW YORK (NOVEMBER 2025)—River Elementary School held its second annual Veterans Day celebration to honor courageous service members and veterans, as well as their families, for their selfless service and defense of our nation, democracy, and freedoms. A schoolwide parade was held on the back field, an expression of gratitude for current and former service members that connected students with the heroes in their community.

Patchogue-Medford Attends Special Olympics Unified Youth Summit

Patchogue-Medford High School students recently attended the 2025-2026 Sayville Special Olympics Unified Youth Summit, with 14 Academic and Career Explorers (ACES) students and 15 student-buddies representing the District. Students led a presentation on the District’s Unified top golf team and newly revitalized student-athlete advisory committee.
