MEDFORD, NEW YORK (DECEMBER 2024)—In honor of November’s National Family Literacy Month, Eagle Elementary School organized an interactive program that featured families participating in literacy activities with their children every Monday through Thursday. The school selected at random a family who successfully fulfilled their pledge from each grade level to receive a visit and prizes from the Eagle Reading Prize Patrol.
PATCHOGUE, NEW YORK (OCTOBER 2024)—South Ocean Middle School recently marked its 100th anniversary with a school-wide celebration and a beautiful mural honoring the school’s rich and storied history. Unity and community pride were front and center as South Ocean students, administrators, faculty, and staff came together for an enjoyable evening of music, food, and games sponsored by the PTA.
MEDFORD, NEW YORK (JUNE 2024)—Patchogue-Medford High School journalism students and Raider TV members proudly represented the Patchogue-Medford School District at the annual Broadcasting Awards for Senior High (BASH). Nearly 1,000 students from over 40 school districts gathered at the Lawrence Herbert School of Communication at Hofstra University for the prestigious event. Patchogue-Medford was honored for its co-anchor team, and students Ceania Gonzales and Martina Costiliola served as presenters of a breakout session.
MEDFORD, NEW YORK (JUNE 2024)—The cast and crew of Patchogue-Medford High School’s production of The Prom received recognition and acclaim at this year’s Teeny Awards. Each year, the Teeny Awards recognizes the best high school theater productions in the east end of Long Island. Ethan Moraitakis and Abigail Caravella received nominations for their acting performances, and 157 students were celebrated as Technical Recognition Honorees.
MEDFORD, NEW YORK (JULY 2024)—Medford Elementary School was visited by the National Circus Project for a week spent exploring fascinating big-top skills and performing on the final day. All Medford students, from kindergarten through fifth grade, participated in this enjoyable physical education opportunity.
