Elementary (K-5)

  • Classroom Teachers

    • Full remote learning will include a combination of synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
    • Daily synchronous full class meetings (Cohort 1 and Cohort 2) will be conducted Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The duration of full class meetings will be (1.5)-hours per day in two 45-minute blocks.  Every effort will be made to not have grade levels overlap to support families who are sharing devices.  Full class meetings may include but are not limited to an ELA block, a math block, a social studies/science block or any other activity deemed necessary by the classroom teacher.
    • In addition to synchronous full class meetings, synchronous small group instruction will be scheduled daily between the hours of 8:45 am and 3:15 pm. These groups will be scheduled by individual classroom teachers and students will be invited to attend. Small group instruction will not exceed 6 students and will run for 30 minutes per group session.  Teachers will run (4) small group instruction sessions each day and students will be notified as to which session they should attend.
    • All students will attend at least two small group instruction meetings per week within the school day. The classroom teacher will determine the times for each group and communicate the schedule on TEAMS. However, depending on the individual academic supports needed, some students will be required to attend more frequently.
    • Small group instruction would focus on reading, writing and math. An example of small group instruction may include, but is not limited to, guided reading, watching and discussing a video, a follow-up mini-lesson on a specific topic, or have students perform/engage in an activity or a specific task. Small group instruction is another opportunity for teachers to assess and clearly identify what students have already learned or need additional support in.
    • Additional instructional experience (asynchronous) work will be posted each day for students to complete. These additional instructional experiences may include, but are not limited to, completing online tasks, viewing instructional videos, responding to posts from his/her teacher, conducting research, engaging in online discussions with the classroom teacher or completion of projects.
