Practicing an instrument, or singing, helps connect concepts that are taught to be applied in performance situations. To become more proficient on your instrument or with your voice, practice will help strengthen your reading skills, coordination, tone, posture, technique and musicality. Participating in a music ensemble is similar to studying a foreign language, and only exposure through frequent practice can help develop one’s musicianship and comprehend the music language.
