Elementary S.T.E.M.

  • Elementary STEM Principal on Special Assignment

I am honored to serve in the capacity as Elementary Principal of STEM for such an outstanding learning community. I obtained my M.S. in Elementary Education and my Ed.D. in Education Leadership and Technology from Dowling College. I have been in education as a teacher and instructional leader for 18 years. My journey in this profession started as a 4th grade teacher.

One of my favorite authors William Glasser Ph.D. wrote “Excellence is a choice”. As an instructional leader of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math my continued vision is to work cooperatively with the students, teachers, parents, and members of the community to create an atmosphere which is united by a common goal to cultivate excellence in education and a passion for Math & Science. My mantra is that every child deserves at least one year’s worth of academic growth. With that said, I strongly believe that all children can learn and I will ensure that paradigms are challenged in order for us to teach them in a way that they will learn best.

Just as important as academic excellence is, I believe there should be a strong emphasis placed on citizenship and social and emotional growth as well as character development. Using research-based best practices as a guide, we will seek to provide our students with an inclusive program of study that is suited for their individual needs.
Through differentiated instructional methods, coupled with our staff’s continuous enrichment of their own knowledge base, we strive to ensure that each child's potential is maximized.

As the seasons pass, I will continue to strive for academic excellence while bringing a passion and love of Science and Math to all our students. The faculty and staff here in the Patchogue-Medford School District working collaboratively with administration have created engaging spaces where students feel empowered to take risks and make choices as they prepare to succeed in a global and technologically advanced society.  I am very proud to be a part of this learning community.

With warmest regards and always in your service,
    Tania M. Dalley, Ed.D.
