Homework Helper Club Students will work on their homework w/support from the teacher. Fall
Kickball Students will learn the basics of the sport as well as teamwork and sportsmanship. Spring
Lacrosse Club Students will learn the basics of the sport as well as teamwork and sportsmanship. Spring
Library Media/Keyboarding students will learn the basics of keyboarding Spring
Math Games Students use various strategies to learn and play math games. Fall
Math Olympiads Engage in creative problem-solving activities. Spring
Math Visual Art Club Students learn that math and art can coexist. Together students create symmetry prints, geometric sculputures, measurement(using yarn), and create a repeated pattern called a tessellation. Fall
Pen Pal Club Students will learn how to write a friendly letter and correspond with someone they don't know from Canaan. Lessons will include introducing oneself, asking interesting questions, (RACE and RADD strategy of responding to their questions, to lastly typed letters to be sent to Canaan. Fall/Winter
Phonics Club Students will learn to use the rule of phonics to blend, create and read words.
Poetry w/Pizzazz Club Students learn to write and publish their poems in unique and dazzling ways. Styles they become familiar with are cinquain, haiku, tanka and free form. Fall
Project Strive (PMYouth Services) SEL enrichment for students October - May
Puzzle Club Students will work as a team to build puzzles and enhance their communication skills. Fall/Winter
Recycling Club & Math Club students collect paper and gather data to analyze based on school wide paper recycling Fall/Winter
Soccer Club Students will learn the basics of the sport as well as teamwork and sportsmanship. Fall
Walking Club (Best Foot Forward) Students benefit from walking by increasing self-esteem, energy, stress relief, and strenghten their immune system. They increase feelings of well-being therefore lowering anxiety and depression. Fall
