Temont Elementary School Mascot

Stanley Stand Tall the Giraffe

How Stanley Got His Name

On September 13, 2002, Stanley Stand Tall was born. For the kick off of Tremont's Character Education program the school needed a special mascot to represent good character. Someone who "stands tall" and "sticks their neck out" to help others. The students selected our school mascot, a giraffe.  A "Name the Giraffe" contest was held and the name Stanley Stand Tall was chosen. Stanley’s motto is, “Stand tall, Stick your neck out and do the right thing." The giraffe continues to be a popular symbol of our school spirit at Tremont.  Our motto is prominently displayed throughout the building.  Multiple bulletin boards highlight student achievement and good character.

Today, you can see Stanley in the lobby of Tremont Elementary School watching students "Stand Tall, Stick their Necks Out, and Do the Right Thing."
