Former American Idol contestant Kevin Covais came to Tremont on March 25, 2008. Tremont raised $12,000 for diabetes and the students were rewarded with a personal concert by Kevin and a six foot trophy. The seven elementary schools together raised $43,000. Kevin was joined by the D-Life Director, Tom Karlya, members of the Patchogue Lion's Club and District 20 S Lion's members to present a check for $30,000 to the Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Diabetes Care Center.
Other attendees included, Mr. Mostow, Superintendent for Patchogue-Medford Schools, Mr. Gamberg, Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Services, Ms. Finn, Administrative Assistant for Elementary Education and Community Affairs.
