Fifth Grade Students Instructed in First Aid

Mrs. Helene Dreyer and Ms. Joan, both volunteer Emergency Medical Technologists from the Patchogue Ambulance Corp., gave an informative workshop
to fifth grade students at Medford Elementary School.  Both Ms. Helene and Ms. Joan educated the students on a variety of medical emergency
topics, including when to call 911; using the Heimlich Maneuver, and elevating a limb above the heart if bleeding.  The students were given
the opportunity to see the inside of an ambulance as well. Ironically enough, both women were called to a local medical emergency immediately after
concluding the workshop.  Medford Elementary gives a special thank you to the local women and men who volunteer their services
each and every day in our community.
