B is for Barometer

Now that spring
is here, keep your eyes on our courtyard. You may just see flying pigs and
dancing frogs!
They can be found on the new wind vanes that are part of a weather study that
Mrs. Bear and
Mrs. Nettles' classes have been working on.
Thanks to a
grant from MESTRACT (The Mid East Suffolk Teachers Center), our school now has
some
great new weather instruments. In addition to the wind vanes, you will
find a weather center,
a sundial, rain and snow gauge thermometers, and much more.
Inside the
classrooms, the kindergarten and first grade students have been learning
to read thermometers, making rainsticks, creating tornadoes and
having fun with instasnow! They have also been reading books
about all kinds of weather
and are now completing an alphabet book called B is for Barometer.
