On March 2, Dr. Seuss, aka Theodor Geisel, would have celebrated his 103rd birthday. In addition, March 2nd is the 50th anniversary of The Cat in the Hat. The faculty and students at Medford Elementary held their own birthday party for Dr. Seuss, complete with a hand-crafted cake created by none other than Medford’s fabulous and talented art teacher, Mrs. Cristie O’Neill. At exactly 2:36, ten teachers volunteered to read aloud the Dr. Seuss’ classic, The Cat in the Hat. Did you know there are 236 words in that legendary story? What a wonderful tribute to one of the most famous authors of all time. |
