Julia Fitton and Ryan Murphy were recently notified that they are recipients of the RIT Computing Medal. RIT is the Rochester Institute of Technology. The award honors their accomplishments as a student, as a member of the school community and their computing abilities. Computing Medal recipients who are admitted to RIT are guaranteed to receive a scholarship of $3,000 per year. In addition the Scholarship Committee determines eligibility for other merit scholarships. Merit scholarships are offered regardless of financial need and may be combined with other scholarships or grants up to the full amount of tuition each year.
Julia and Ryan have both taken Computer Science Courses at PMHS since their freshman years. They have taken Robotics and Beginning Programming, Web Design and Programming in Java and AP Computer Science A. Senior year they will both take AP Computer Science AB. Their teachers at the HS are Mrs. Bucaria, Ms. Moshman and Mr. O'Neill.
