Patchogue-Medford is one of the 2 Long Island districts that are a part of the Gilder-Lehrman Institute's History Network Schools. Our school is funded so that students may attend Junior Historian's Forums, make special trips to historical places, participate in national History Day, provide for history books and professional development in history for teachers. Our students participate in special research projects and the Civil War Essay Contest. Consequently, our students are high achievers in American History
