Patchogue-Medford Bridge Builders
PATCHOGUE-MEDFORD HIGH SCHOOL BRIDGE BUILDERS

Patchogue-Medford High School students participated in the 2003 Brookhaven National Laboratory’s Bridge Building Contest. Three hundred bridges were entered in this year’s competition and Patchogue-Medford’s students had eight bridges in the top seventeen.

The ranking of the bridges is as follows:
  • Michael Eckardt - 1st Place
  • Conor Nugent - 4th Place
  • Lei Wang - 5th Place
  • Thomas Kerrigan - 9th Place
  • Jonathan Morales - 10th Place
  • Christopher Marin - 11th Place
  • Lawrence Moore - 13th Place
  • John Manley - 17th Place

Michael's 14.6 gram bridge held more than 3,400 times its mass. Michael is representing Suffolk County in the National Bridge Contest for the second year in a row. This year's contest will be held in Chicago. Congratulations to these fine students for their outstanding performance in this year's contest.
